Instilling Confidence Into Cambodian Watchmakers

The six Cambodian students, who are now receiving full scholarships and stipends, are on track to become the first watchmakers in Cambodia to repair and assemble watches to Swiss standards, which are widely regarded as the gold standard in the luxury watch industry. Chen Zhi has devoted particular attention to the institute, which is financed by Prince Foundation, the Group's philanthropic arm. The facility is an important part of the Group's overall endeavour to improve education in Cambodia through scholarship programmes, thought leadership trainings, and other CSR projects. “Three years back, this was just a vision,” Chen Zhi says.

Endorsement Of Safe Reopening Of Sihanoukville Schools

Preparing The Young Through New Scholarship Launch

  One of Cambodia's leading corporations, Prince Holding Group ("Prince Group"), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) to start a scholarship program for Cambodian university students. Prince Group will cover the whole cost of tuition and stipends for 400 selected students pursuing Bachelor of Science degrees at leading Cambodian universities such as the Royal University of Phnom Penh, the National University of Management, and the Cambodian Institute of Technology. Over the course of seven years, Prince Group will contribute more than $2 million. Prince Group will collaborate with the government to achieve the goals established in the Education Strategic Plan, as public-private partnerships are critical (2019-2023).   The masterplan for Ream City in Cambodia's Sihanoukville province, set to transform the region into an exciting destination, was recently unveiled. With a beachfront that stretches for more than 6 kilometres, this large-scale development will include a sustainable ecosystem of tourism, commercial, and residential activity, with the capacity to house up to 130,000 people. The 834-ha project is being developed by Canopy Sands Development, a member of the Cambodian conglomerate Prince Holding Group, and will include family attractions, condominiums, landed and beachfront homes and affordable housing estates, shopping malls, business hubs, beach resorts, hotels, condotels, yacht and marina club.
